I am looking for a Group Manager (Controls & Instrumentation) for a direct-hire position in St.Paul, MN.

Primary Function:
Provide day-to-day direct supervision and leadership to direct reports. Provide engineering support on project and proposals.
Responsibilities:- Personnel Supervision – assign leads for projects and provide work assignments. Assure leads have clear scope of work and design criteria. Assure leads buy in to budget and schedule at the start of a project. Help leads work through barriers to effectiveness.
- Technical Leadership – assure engineering tasks are executed properly, project needs are satisfied, and procedures are followed. Group deliverables include calculations, drawings, parts lists, specifications, and reports.
- Project Support – monitor the work produced by the group to assure the success of a project.
- Resource Management – manage resources such that work can be accomplished on time, on budget, and with high quality.
- Proposal Support – assign leads to support proposals, be cognizant of proposal details to assure risks have been addressed and information is accurate.
- Communication – maintain active communication and coordination with group, peers, management, other departments, and internal and external customers.
- Cost Control – provide continuing awareness to leads on task, budget, and schedule requirements.
- Staff Development – develop group competencies consistent with business strategy and corporate goals.
- Group Objectives – interface with upper management on short and mid-range strategic direction in areas of responsibility. Evaluate engineering processes and recommend changes. Implement methods to lower costs. Help develop and support new growth options. Encourage group to seek out new methods, approaches, and tools.
