Business Relationship Manager
(Official title is IT Service Manager Senior and is a individual contributor position)
The Business Relationship Management department provides a central point of contact and communication between IT and other business areas within BCBSMN. The Business Relationship managers focus is on the operational components of the business relationship with IT. They have the primarily responsibility for developing and maintaining a successful relationship between a specific business unit and IT. They plan, direct, and coordinate IT activities in support of assigned business areas.
As an influential IT relationship contact with business leadership and executives, you are accountable for facilitating strategic and operational activities between IT and the business area and will assist the business area in planning IT activities and become an important liaison for business area and IT resources. You will ensures expectations are properly met and responsible for effective communication to IT leadership on business needs and assist business in planning initiatives to support projects. The main focus is to ensure the development of communication and liaison activities between IT and the business unit.
Your key accountabilities will be:
1. Provides a direct line of communication between all levels of IT and business leadership and IT resources.
2. Prepares and monitors comprehensive Service Plan for specific business areas. Provides regular status reporting to both IT and business leadership. Develops and manages the successful partnership with IT business partners and customers.
3. Meets regularly with business and IT leadership and identifies business needs. Acts as liaison between IT and business leadership, including executive staff. Acts as the primary contact with leadership and executives for IT service issues.
4. Plan, organizes and directs IT activities in support of business unit. Acts as liaison for implementation of technical solutions to meet business needs.
5. Develops, negotiates and maintains application specific Service Level Agreements. Provides reporting and analysis to business units on system performance and service disruptions.
6. Participates in strategic projects. Confers with project staff to ensure that business objectives are met and to resolve issues.
7. Provides advocacy function for each customer or business partner within the IT organization (for example Change Management, Release Management, Business/Technical task forces).
8. Organizes and facilitates work groups to address specific service issues as appropriate.
9. Acts as coordinator between IT departments and customer entity in relation to strategic and tactical business needs, service issues, technology recommendations and operational issues.
Required Qualifications:

1.(5) years demonstrated experience in IT infrastructure technical and process support or business relationship management experience in an IT environment.
2. Demonstrated experience in working directly with process improvement methodologies, preferably in an IT environment.
3. Willingness to respond to urgent situations outside of regular business hours. Some hours outside of core business may be required.
Preferred Qualifications:
1. An undergraduate degree in computer science, business or related discipline.
2. ITIL Foundations Certification; Service Level Management practitioner certification desirable.
3. Excellent communication skills, both written and oral. Must be able to effectively communicate to a broad spectrum of people, from operator trainees to company officers.
4. Demonstrated problems solving skills. Must be able to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
5. Knowledgeable in delivering complex information concerning IT projects and solutions to business areas.
6. Negotiation experience.
7. Superior customer service skills
8. Advanced presentation/PC skills (Excel/Powerpoint/Word).
9. Strong planning and organizational skills.
10. Knowledge of Blue Cross’ strategies, products and services.
