Job Summary:
This person provides writing, editing and communications counsel for a variety of communications media. Position is responsible for creative conceptualizing and execution of high profile, complex assignments in partnership with designer and account management team members.
Responsibilities include creative concept development with designer and/or art director, and writing/content development for a wide variety of communications that can include print collateral/brochures, direct mail, print ads, publications, member materials, presentations, videos, events, speeches, and web content.
Accountabilities:
1. Works collaboratively with team members, and internal business partner clients as appropriate, to develop strategic communications vehicles that help meet business goals and objectives.
2. Researches, develops, writes and edits and proofreads materials for primarily external audiences within established timelines.
3. Serves as a member of integrated communications teams.
4. Responsible for development, documentation, and application of brand voice and messaging in all marketing projects.
Required Qualifications:
*Bachelor's degree preferably in the communications, marketing or journalism field and 5-7 years of related work experience, or 9+ years of experience in lieu of degree.
*Demonstrated understanding of and experience in writing for marketing communications.
*Highly skilled/talented creative conceptualizer and promotional copywriter, as evidenced by portfolio.
*Excellent communication skills and strong strategic thinking skills.
*Positive, proactive, organized and able to meet deadlines.
*Learns complex topics quickly.
*Versatile / flexible / adaptable.
*Ability to collaborate on complex, cross-functional projects.
Preferred Qualifications:
*Health insurance, employee benefits or health care industry knowledge and experience preferred, advertising agency or in-house agency experience a plus.
