Senior Data Migration Analyst

Job Summary:
Leads the mapping of IS source data systems; extracts and moves data into operational data stores, and into various data warehouses to continually improve the technical quality and stability of all the data extraction systems within the IS application portfolio.

Accountabilities:
1. Maps and extracts data from current source systems to future target data stores, ensuring that the quality and functionality of the data extraction process is continually improving.
2. Provides expertise on the IS application portfolio and specifics within each application.
3. Provides application expertise to data warehousing initiatives.
4. Interfaces with data management staff and project development teams regarding project initiatives, enhancements or fixes that impact the stability of the IS applications portfolio, ensuring that data stores meet customer needs.
5. May present data management strategic plans and other initiatives to the IS management team.
6. Develops administrative procedures for the construction and implementation of data migration and transition processes.
7. Accountable for data migration and transition across multiple data stores.
8. Responsible for the process and the continuous improvement of the technical quality and stability of all data migration and transition processes within all IS source data stores.
9. Provides the design blue prints used in extracting and enhancements of movement across all data stores.
10. Facilitates the improvements of all our data migration process and the use of new technologies in this function.
11. Provides on-call service twenty-four hours per day to provide technical support to end users for immediate resolution.

Required Qualifications:

1. Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Business Administration, or related topic, and five to seven years of related experience.
2. Strong experience in ETL process design and using ETL tools like Informatica.
3. Experiences in Data Warehousing and using 3 Normal Form relational and/or dimensional model (star schema).
4. Experiences in design and developing ETL process according to the data model and business requirements.

Preferred Qualifications (any combination will enhance your candidacy)

1. Experience in UNIX and/or Mainframe platforms for development (UNIX shell scripts, Mainframe JCLs etc.)
2. Experience in working with multiple teams (business, data modeling and testing for example) and is able to document and communicate the ETL process.
3. Experience in using scheduling tools.
4. Excellent Application Design Skills.
5. Proven ability to architect technical solutions to meet business needs.
6. Extensive applications analysis background.
7. Extensive knowledge of BCBSM technologies and applications.
8. Previous experience in analyzing application trends.
9. Good understanding of integration and implementation strategies.
10. Extensive background in applying problem solving skills.
11. Demonstrated ability in clear, concise speaking and writing.
12. Previous systems planning background, preferred.
13. Flexibility to work on-call and overtime hours to resolve problems and meet time schedules.
