Team Lead - Claims Processing
Responsibilities Related to the Project
- Leads a team responsible for claims processing functions, coordinating work assignments, resolving system design issues, and ensuring compliance with system development standards and methodologies
- Creates and supports a team environment; ensures that members of the team are cross-trained in different Alaska Health Enterprise components
- Serves as a Subject Matter Expert to the team and the customer, sharing knowledge during interaction with the customer; is familiar with subsystem artifacts, recognizes gaps within requirements that must be addressed
- Conducts and supervises detailed requirements analysis, development, and system testing of claims processing components
- Directs the team effort in identifying issues, developing options to resolve risks, conducting requirements analysis and elaboration of changes to artifacts
- Reviews Claims Processing Use Cases and provides input on changes to workflows
- Ensures quality of design deliverables and works with developers to resolve requirements issues and validate requirements are being met
- Supervises development of test plans, including detailed test cases and test data, reviews test progress and reporting documents
- Interprets system/integration test results and develops solutions to problem areas and to ensure that code has been fully tested for performance
- Assists in file conversions; checks the accuracy of converted information, identifies discrepancies, and recommends corrective actions
Required Qualifications
- BS/BA degree preferred or equivalent work experience
Preferred Prior Experience (meets one or more criteria)
- Team Lead (or Senior Business Analyst) in a related area during a development project for an automated MMIS or for another automated health care claims processing system
- Strong overall understanding of MMIS related claims processing and Medicaid program operations
- Prior experience with web portal technology for claims capturer and processing
- Prior experience with health care customers and system performance expectations
- Prior management experience responsible for supervising teams of business support analysts
