Job Summary:
This position is responsible for ensuring that tools and methods for a particular development environment (i.e. mainframe, distributed, Internet) adhere to the methods and tools architecture defined by the Tools/Methods Enterprise Architect. Position will be responsible for furthering the implementation of Rational Requisite Pro on projects. Will be assigned to projects, mentoring the teams on how to leverage Requisite Pro for Scope and Requirements management throughout the project life cycle and be responsible for defining the standard 'definition' for Requisite Pro. Documents the work environment including the standards and procedures that govern the use of a methodology/tool set.
Accountabilities:
1. Reviews requests for improved or new methodology/tool sets.
2. Leads/participates in methodology/tool evaluations based on request and integration criteria.
3. Responsible for defining the standard 'definition' for Requisite Pro. New versions and capabilities must be introduced as appropriate.
4. Generates recommendations for needed development/project management tools and methods.
5. Develops standards and procedures around new and existing methodology/tool sets.
6. Leads/participates in pilot projects to evaluate work environments for methodology/tool sets.
7. Builds infrastructure for development methodologies/tools and processes to meet BCBSM standards and policies.
8. Assists the implementation of improved or new tools/methods.
9. Analyzes industry development methodologies/tools to meet company objectives.
10. Documents processes and procedures necessary to provide methodology/tool support.
11. Supports and organizes development methodology/tool user group. Publishes minutes of meetings, prepares overviews and facilitates process.
12. Mentors application development and maintenance staff in tools and methodologies.
13. Generates documentation and training for methodologies/tools and supporting work environments.
14. Provides training of methodologies/tools and supports other facilitators of tools/methods related classes.
14. Provides on-call support for development methodology/tool sets.
16. May perform an Implementation Specialist role, coordinating and documenting tool/method implementation.
Required Qualifications:
1. Bachelor's degree in computer science or related degree, and six (6) years of software test automation with test leadership experience. If no degree, the ten (10) years of experience.
2. Experience successfully leveraging RUP and IBM/Rational tools on projects.
3. Experience assessing projects for adherence to standard practices (quality assurance).
4. Expertise in and experience with software testing methodologies
5. Experience with managing or leading project testing activities.
6. Expertise in and experience with quality measures and metrics
7. Leadership skills with the related ability to generate ideas, support and commitment from those affected.
8. Strong communication skills both written and presentation.
9. Strong analytical skills for evaluating potential solutions for methodology/tool requirements.
